Right now Karen and I are officially on vacation in Panama City Beach while the kids are living it up with Nana and Pa in Gatlinburg. And let me tell you—we’ve found our happy place at Pineapple Willie’s Pier Bar. If you’re picturing ordinary pier food, forget it. This place takes beachfront dining to a whole new level.
I ordered the Mahi-Mahi BLT with remoulade sauce, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it’ll make you “wanna smack ya mama!” Meanwhile, in classic Karen fashion, she went with… you guessed it… the House Salad (somebody has to keep things balanced).
Picture this: you’re sitting out on the deck, drink in hand, with the sandy beach stretching out beneath the pier and the Gulf shimmering just beyond it. The ribs fall off the bone, the seafood is as fresh as the breeze, and the frozen daiquiris taste like vacation in a cup. Pro tip from us: the best seat in the house is Seat 503 at the end of the pier. That’s where you get the view, the breeze, and the full “we’re on vacation” vibe.
Meanwhile, back in Gatlinburg, the kids are surviving just fine on a steady diet of cake pops and a 32-inch pizza from Slice Pizza . You know—super balanced, super nutritious, exactly what every parent dreams of.
